PRESIDENT, CHRISLYNN TAYLOR. ChrisLynn (CL) has been with the Chorale since 2013. Holding a Master Degree in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance, CL brings a variety of specialty tools to the NCC Board.
VICE PRESIDENT, CINDY VAN ARSDALL. Cindy has been with the Chorale since 2008. Her background as CFO and Office Manager for a construction company provides experience with finances, operating insurance, and government documentation that enhance many of the needs of North Coast Chorale.
SECRETARY, MELINDA NICKELS. Melinda has been singing with the North Coast Chorale since the Fall of 2022. She is a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist practicing at Watershed Wellness Astoria. She brings web programming skills and prior church and choir board experience to the NCC Board.
TREASURER, SHERRY PAYNE. Sherry has been with the Chorale since 2018. Besides being a retired teacher, Sherry brings skills to the NCC Board from being treasurer with Cannon Beach Choral, Director of First Presbyterian Bell Choir, and VP for PEO.
LIBRARIAN, ANN PARRINO. Ann joined the chorale after moving to the Pacific Northwest from Northern California in 2016. As a retired lead Interventional radiologic technologist working in a trauma center in. Her supervisory experience brings, among others, greatly needed organizational skills as NCCs music librarian.
Director at Large– CAROLE BIRNEY. Carole has been singing with NCC since 2001. She is a retired paralegal, having worked for the Clatsop County DA for 30 years. She volunteers for a local food bank and other organizations, and sings with her Church choir. She is a member of Beta Sigma Phi and has been a Master Gardener. As a lifetime resident of Clatsop County, she brings experience and knowledge of the community.
Director at Large – SHAWN ROGERS. Shawn has been with the Chorale since 2018. He is a consultant in Emergency Medical Services and works as a paramedic with the local ambulance part-time. His long experience in health care management adds depth to the board.
Director at Large – DINAH URELL – Dinah joined the Chorale in the winter of 2018 and became a board member the Fall of 2018. She is the Publisher/Editor of Hipfishmonthly alternative newspaper on the coast and manages KALA Performance Space, bringing local, regional and international music and performance to the stage.
Associate Director – PASTOR PAUL DAVIDSON. Pastor Paul joined NCC in 2024. He has serving as pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Astoria since July of 2023 after serving his first call for five years in Kansas. He feels called to and enjoys helping out wherever and however he can.
Associate Director – CHRIS RUST – Chris has been with the Chorale since 2025. He is an experienced educational leader and consultant based in Astoria, Oregon. With more than 30 years in public education as a teacher, principal, and superintendent, he now works with Northwest Leadership Associates, supporting school districts through executive leadership searches and fact-finding inquiries. In addition to this, Chris also serves on the Cascadia Chamber Opera Board.
Associate Director – BETH HALL – Beth has been a member of the Chorale since 2022. Singing is her favorite past time and she has been involved with many groups throughout her lifetime. She loves being part of the Astoria community and wants to help promote the Arts and the PAC.
